On January 9, 2025, at about 1:30pm, a Kindred Construction crane operator lowered the final cross-laminated timber (CLT) roof panel into place atop BC Housing’s Vienna House project—the building’s “topping out” moment.
BC Housing just released a 30-second Instagram video to recognize the milestone. The clip captures the moment from above, as well as the crew from Seagate Mass Timber that worked hard to get the project to this point. Watch it here:
Kalesnikoff, a company in Castlegar, B.C., manufactured 496 cross-laminated timber panels for Vienna House.
With the roof structure now complete, workers will finish installing windows, and install balconies, walkways, and the elevator.
The project is on track for completion at the end of 2025.
